NASHVILLE, TENN. (May 20, 2022) - Jackson Nance, a 22-year-old singer/songwriter, awe-inspiring musician and music producer has announced the release of his debut single, “I Love You Mom” in honor of mothers everywhere. The self-penned tune was recorded at Anonymous Studios, North Hollywood, CA with production by Shane Bauman and Jackson Nance. Studio musicians on the project included Shane Bauman on midi and Nance providing acoustic and lead guitar. The new music is available for download and streaming on all digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora and more at smarturl.it/iloveyoumom_jn.
Jackson had just finished a week of shows around the time of his mom's birthday. Between the timing of his travels and simply being so busy with his career, he completely forgot to get her a gift. A few days later his family was sitting in the living room when his dad texted him he forgot his mom's special day. Right then, Jackson excused himself and wrote, “I Love You Mom,” as a make-up gift. Upon return to the living room and two teary-eyed attempts, he played it for her. Needless to say, although he was late with giving her a present, she said it was her favorite gift!
“I have always been a Mama's boy and I feel like this song represents that. I was always a little hesitant to write something for my mom because of how honest and real it would have to be, but I'm very proud of how it turned out. I hope that all the moms out there know how special they are when they hear it,” stated Jackson Nance.
“I met Jackson when he was about thirteen or fourteen and his talent was already cemented in his bones. He can pick with the best of 'em and sing circles around this town. Jackson and his pen are sharper than the cut of a knife. With time on his side and spotlights in his eyes, there is nothing he can’t do,” shared Devin Dawson.
“Super talented dude. All around no doubt. He has an amazing way of connecting with people. But I have to say honestly collaborating with Jackson on this project was a real eye-opening experience. It’s always a truly special moment to be a part of the big AH-HA moment when an artist finds their sound because not a lot of artists ever make it that far. Most of the time people quit before they find their natural lane and flow, but Jackson is an example of an artist who found it and I’m truly grateful to have been a part of that process,” shared co-writer Shane Bauman.
“The very first girl to hold my hand
you’ve always been there for me
when I’m not faithful to myself
you make sure to remind me there’s a bigger plan in works
and you’ve always got my back
There’s a lot that I don’t say
I don’t always take the time to tell you how amazed I am
and so lucky that you’re mine
but let me start by saying this
I hope it comes out right
You help me stand when I start to fall
you’ve always been here through it all
when time gets tough you won’t let me quit
you reassure when I’m needing it
don’t think for a single second I forgot
that you’re the best gift that I’ve ever got from god
I love you mom
I hope that one day I become the man you know I could be
and show my kids the kinda love that you’ve always given me
to shelter and provide
and always give the best advice
maybe I could be to them what you’ve been in my life”

About Jackson Nance:
Jackson Nance a 22-year-old singer-songwriter-musician-producer hailing from Laurel, Mississippi, and currently based in Franklin, Tennessee, has been grooming his music style and perfecting his performance since a very young age. He is the youngest male artist to ever sign a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music at age 15. Nance was commissioned by The Alabama Tourism board to write and record an original song with session musicians from The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, also known as The Swampers. Nance spent the next 4 years on music row perfecting his songwriting abilities under the wings of some of Nashville's greatest songwriters including Devin Dawson, Jimmie Allen, Danny Orton, Steve Mcewan, Fred Wilhelm and Mark Bright among many others. His tendency to be in the right spot at the right time has allowed him to join Toby Mac in the studio after a chance and a brief meeting at a local ice cream shop to have Randy Owen from Alabama invite him two years in a row to perform on Randy's Fandemonium show. Nance has engaged in studio work with the late Reggie Young, one of the most recorded guitar players of all time, who gave Jackson a custom leather jacket that was made for Marty Stuart. He has opened for or shared stages with Billy Ray Cyrus, Jeffrey Steele, Little Texas, Delbert McClinton, Moe Bandy, Jamey Johnson and more. Ready to let the world hear his music, he released his debut single “I Love You Mom” on May 20, 2022. The tune was the result of a forgotten birthday gift, so he wrote and performed the song for his mom more-or-less on the spot.
