NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Breakout country/pop artist Jordana Bryant has released her highly anticipated sophomore single “New Friends” today, Friday, June 24, via Riser House Entertainment (Mitchell Tenpenny, Ronnie Milsap, Dillon Carmichael). The 16-year-old’s passionate and rapidly growing fanbase on Instagram and TikTok instantly connected with the track and flooded Jordana’s comment section with pleas for its release and quickly created hundreds of videos with the sound. In turn, the track received over 10,000 pre-saves and further cemented Jordana as one of the industry’s most notable up and coming country/pop artists and songwriters. Additionally, “New Friends” enjoyed a first listen premiere with Hollywood Life where the outlet applauded the song for its “infectious groove and an undeniable melody.” Watch the official lyric video for the song here.
“I came up with the idea for ‘New Friends’ one night when I was feeling like I was drifting apart from one of my best friends whom I had been friends with for practically my whole life,” Jordana Bryant said. “Growing apart from old friends and making new ones is just a part of life that everyone goes through, but it was hard to watch someone who had been such a big part of my life become less of it, so I wrote a song about it to help me, and hopefully other people too, get through it.”
Written by the Pennsylvania native, alongside Danielle Blakey (Kane Brown, Jimmie Allen, Matt Stell), Lydia Vaughan (Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, CJ Solar) and Claire Douglass (Tim McGraw, Bailey Bryan), “New Friends” gives an introspective look at just how devastating a ‘friend break-up' can be. Last week, Jordana hosted an MTV Jam Session where she shared a special acoustic performance of the standout track. Earlier this year, Bryant released her debut single, “Guilty,” with Riser House, garnering nearly 500,000 views on YouTube and 240,000 streams on Spotify alone in under two months. The song also received waves of support from Entertainment Tonight, E! Online, SPIN, CMT and Taste of Country among others.
Growing up in a home filled with the sound of her father playing guitar, Jordana has never known a life without music. Learning to play guitar from her dad at age 10, she began honing in and developing her gifts as a songwriter shortly after. Her writing is one of the many things in addition to her kindness, authenticity and work ethic, that prove her to be wise beyond her years and foretell just how far she will go with her music.
Now a recent high school grad, Jordana is pursuing a full time career in music. She recently opened for country music trio Restless Road, and also played her debut Nashville show during CMA Fest earlier this month, with additional shows to be announced this year. With a massive arsenal of unreleased original music and rigorous work ethic and passion, 2022 continues to be a momentous year for the young songstress, full of endless possibilities for exceptional growth and high recognition.
