(Nashville, TN): Two pillars of the LGBTQ+ country scene in Nashville, Adam Mac and Jenna DeVries have released their single "Chapel," along with its accompanying music video. Adam and Jenna's vocals blend seamlessly, while subsequently drawing listeners in lyrically with their sultry and fresh take on a Bonnie and Clyde-esque love affair. The music video enjoyed an exclusive premiere with The Boot, where the outlet applauded DeVries and Mac as "musical titans."
With their latest collaboration, the two breakout artists continue to strive to make the country music genre a safe and welcoming space for all, as their authenticity shines through the soulful lyrics and captures the viewer's eye.
Jenna shares, “I think in many ways ‘Chapel’ is a celebration of love and the different forms it takes. As queer artists, we have experienced love in positive and negative ways. We have seen it in its most conditional form and its most unconditional form. ‘Chapel’ is an anthem that celebrates unconditional love by painting a picture of dying to the inauthentic version of yourself and coming back to life within a community that truly loves and accepts you for YOU. Meet me at the chapel is a direct invitation to the listener to join Adam and me in this community that celebrates love in every form - even if it can feel a bit daunting at times.”
Adam Mac also shares his perspective on the project: “For me, I love that the song lives in this world of irony where two queer people are singing this dark, entangled, Bonnie & Clyde love story. It feels so empowering to sing this song alongside Jenna. ‘Chapel’ is our gothic western lovechild.”
