Allie Colleen recently released her well-received debut album "Stones" and we had the chance to chat with her about animals, tattoos and her career thus far..

Hi, Allie! Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with us today. You just signed a booking deal with APA! Do you have a dream venue you'd like to perform at?

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The venue I grew up seeing my favorite artists is Cains Ballroom. I've had to the honor to open there before but to have my own headlining show will be a dream!!

Can you explain your songwriting process to us a little bit? Do you come up with the lyrics or the melody first?

This is one of my top 5 least favorite questions, ha! -- it just doesn't work that way for me -- there's no method to the madness. Sometimes it's work and sometimes the song writes itself however it likes.

You released your debut album "Stones" in November 2021. Do you have a favorite song off the record? Which one is the biggest crowd-pleaser at your shows?

"Wildflower" and "Stones" are always crowd favorites. Selfishly for me, "Blame it on the Weather" is the only song on the album I wrote by myself and I'm very proud of that song and how it is performed.

What are some of your hobbies outside of music?

I am a manic crafter, I love animals and my horses. I am a gym kid for sure...you can find me there every day and it's something I put equal work into similar to music because just like music it makes me feel good.

If you weren't a singer/songwriter, what career path do you think you would have chosen?

I like to daydream I would be a Black Mamba in South Africa -- protecting the land and wildlife from poachers, as well as teaching about land conservation.

You have several intricate, detailed tattoos that are displayed on your social media pages. Do you have a favorite? Do you prefer to plan them out or get one spontaneously?

I love tattoos. Body artwork means a lot to me and it's always different. I have pieces I've planned for months and pieces I walked in and picked off the flash board. I love them all. My neck tattoo is probably my favorite if I had to choose.

What can we expect from you in 2023?

You can expect the best version of myself I've ever been -- so far. Bigger show, bigger songs, wonky outfits, more tattoos, new music, product partnerships, and much more!!! Come see me!!
