Melody's Miscellaneous: Interview with Nashville's Evanthia

Evanthia is a talented singer and actor born and raised in St. Louis, MO. From a young age, she knew that music was her passion and found inspiration in watching Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato on the Disney channel. Her love for the spotlight led her to catch the eye of a local talent management company, which helped her book her first job in a McDonalds commercial.

Over the years, Evanthia continued to develop her skills through dance, acting, and singing classes, as well as numerous print and commercial work for local grocery stores, a large hotel chain, and toy commercials. Her early experiences in front of the camera and under the bright lights convinced her that a career on stage as a singer was her destined path.

In pursuit of her dreams, Evanthia moved to Nashville over a year ago to pursue her music career. She keeps a daily journal and imbues her song lyrics and performances with personal experience, tapping into the emotions that have brought her this far. Her unique style and spirit infuse every song she writes and performs, making her music more relatable and authentic.

Evanthia's authenticity and confidence enhance her magnetic presence on stage and in the studio. Her hard work and dedication have already led to a significant following of over 1 million fans across social media platforms. Her real girl next door approach and magnetic personality are a testament to the connection she has made with fans around the globe.

Currently, Evanthia can be found in the studio songwriting and performing at local Nashville venues like The Bluebird Cafe, as her passion for music continues to drive her forward. Her early successes and unwavering commitment to her craft are a testament to her talent and potential for even greater things to come.

We recently sat down and had a lovely conversation with Evanthia...and she was as sweet as she is talented!

Hi, Evanthia! It's great to meet you. What inspired you to release “The Deep End” as your debut single?

For me, it's all about a feeling. I felt like many people in relationships would be able to really resonate with the lyrics. It's a song that can really take your heart to different places. I also think it's a great song going into the summer. Its vibey and real. I knew that a love song would be a great way to launch my music.

How would you describe your sound?

I would say if you mix Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves together. I love storytelling. I like painting a picture for my listeners with my lyrics. I also love having music that is relatable and raw. I think that with music, you can be really creative with your sound and everyone can perceive it in their own way. Music is universal.

You have quite the social media following! What advice can you give to new artists trying to build a fan base?

First and foremost, always be yourself! I have always been real to my followers. I think that it's important as someone on social media, that you continue to post regularly. I love my followers and I love connecting to them. It's a friendship to me :)

Who are some artists that inspire you?

There are so many that inspire me. But currently, I would have to say Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Kacey Musgraves. All three of these artists are just so real. Their work ethic is so insane and their positivity is so infectious. The music they put out is super relatable, and I think they just know how to give the fans what they want to hear. I hope I can do the same with my music.

What are the top three songs you’ve been listening on repeat?

Well, honestly my family and friends have my song blasting all the time. It's so sweet. So I would consider that on repeat for me. And then I would say Luke Combs' Fast Car and then Zach Bryan's Sun To Me. These two are just so fun. The energy they put off is incredible, and I have always been a big fan of them. They know how to entertain and even as you listen it makes you want to dance.

What’s it like living in Nashville, the hub of all things country music?

Nashville is a little big town. It is filled with some of the most amazing creative people. This definitely helps having creatives everywhere I turn. You can go every night to a different venue, or restaurant and listen to live music. It is literally Music City. There is just something about a southern city too. The people here have such warm hearts.

Can you tell us more about your upcoming releases for this year?

I would honestly love to share more details, and I promise I will as soon as it's available. I am headed back into the studio this very week. What I can say is that my listeners are going to be excited. I have many more songs that are headed your way!

Where can fans connect with you?

I would love for them to follow me on all my socials at evanthia_theodorou. I also have a text line at 615-747-2346. Feel free to send me a message anytime! I love connecting to my listeners.

Thanks so very much for this opportunity. I really appreciate all of the love and support. It means the world to me!

XO Evanthia
