Progressive country/pop artist CWBY has been taking the music industry by storm lately! His debut release, “Trapstar,” has racked up over 1 million streams on Spotify alone, while the music video has nearly 2 million views. Using a highly contemporary and genre inclusive approach to finding his sound, demonstrated in fan-favorite tracks such as “Sorry Mama” and “Toxic,” CWBY has created a compelling infusion of country, pop, rock, R&B and rap influences. He recently inked an exclusive deal with CDX Records, a boutique imprint label and trusted promotional delivery service to country radio for over 3 decades.
“CWBY is an innovator as much as he is a fantastic artist. He has his finger on the pulse of what is happening. We believe he will change the business like Sam Phillips and Sun Records did,” said Joe Kelly, President of CDX Records. “CWBY and his music are right in the wheelhouse of where our music is going and we are proud to be his team.”
Originally from Florida, the now Californian first headed west in entrepreneurial pursuits, where he made name for himself in the cannabis industry and coined the name “Cannabis Cowboy.” First discovering his love for music when he began using songwriting as an outlet to express himself, CWBY soon understood that his passion for sharing his life stories extended beyond just a hobby. Since then, he has spent the last 2 years refining his craft through his rigorous dedication to finding and utilizing every possible opportunity for growth.
We recently had the chance to sit down with CWBY and got to know him a little better.
Hi, CWBY! Congratulations on your recent deal with CDX Records! What do you have planned for the upcoming months?
We have a lot coming up in the upcoming months! I want my next few releases to really connect with my fans and any new people it may come across so that they may become fans. We also have some performances lined up in Nashville through the months of July and August. I can't wait to be back and on stage.

Your music has a mix of country, pop, rap, rock and R&B influences. Who are some of your favorite artists who have inspired your career?
There's so many artists that I have taken inspiration from. I love all genres, so I have a broad inspiration list. Here are just a few: Bon Jovi, Chris Stapleton, Phil Collins, 2pac, Joyner Lucas, Eminem, Ginuwine, Avant, Usher, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, Linkin Park, and so many more.
We love your style and unique look. Do you have a favorite tattoo that means the most to you?
Well...all of my tattoos are actually fiction characters, but my favorite one would be my Sirius Black tattoo on my forearm.
What do you hope listeners take away from your music?
I hope my music can just make people feel something real, something they can connect with. All my music is about my life and everything I have been through, so I really put a lot of emotion and my all into it. I want my listeners to be able to relate to it.
