The mid-tempo track serves as a new chapter for the fierce cowgirl, as it displays her new and approved sound." - Tiffany Goldstein, CMT.com "Lane’s latest song is about that universal experience of being caught unaware by love. Further, 'Ambush' is a sonic slice of a cowgirl western with vocals unable to be fenced in." - Catherine Walthall, American Songwriter "Mikayla Lane is bringing a vibrant, fresh sound to today’s country music scene. Her new single 'Ambush' can best be described as 'Southwest meets James Bond Spaghetti Western,' and we can’t get enough!" - Carly Billington, Cowgirl Magazine "With her talent, determination, work ethic, and natural instinct, I do not doubt that this country crooner’s star will continue to rise." - Bethany Bowman, The Tennessee Star Written by Mikayla and John Conrad and produced by Jimmy Ritchey (Jake Owen, Clay Walker, Mark Chesnutt), "Ambush" brings a spunky, cowgirl-themed tale of unexpected love on the range and offers up a western-esque vibe.
