NASHVILLE, TENN. – With the holiday season fast approaching, Nashville based singer/songwriter Noelle Toland is ringing in the holiday with the release of her own soulful rendition of a yuletide favorite Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. This song is available on all digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
Originally written in 1944 by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blaine, this holiday classic was first recorded by Judy Garland for the musical Meet Me in St. Louis and made popular by many other artists including Carrie Underwood, Frank Sinatra, John Legend, Michael Buble’, and more.
Produced by Leland Grant, Noelle’s warm and soulful vibe is bound to put anyone in the Christmas spirit with this stripped down vocal and piano arrangement. “Singing is all about storytelling and I love to experience the emotions that flow within a song,” says Noelle. “This is such a classic tune and I love the uplifting sentiment behind the lyrics to the song. Plus, I’m a huge Judy Garland fan and since this song was in Meet Me In St. Louis, it became a clear choice to release this, with my own classic twist.”
With the holiday spirit filling the air, Noelle loves this time of the year. “After all, Christmas falls the day before my birthday so naturally, it’s just runs through my blood,” laughs Noelle. “I love Christmas because the true cornerstone of the season is rooted in what I believe is the greatest principal of all: giving. I love shopping for friends and family and trying to pick out the perfect gifts for them. I’ve learned it’s really the little things that count the most.”
“As a child, my parents and I would decorate the tree and my dad would wait until the very end to put this beautiful white angel tree topper with ornate wings on top. I remember it always feeling so peaceful once she was up there! I was also a Girl Scout (Troop 678) and every year we would go Christmas Caroling. I loved it and I would insist that I sang the solo in The First Noel.”
