Reigning from St. Louis, Missouri, Nashville-based singer/songwriter Stephanie Rabus started singing at age eleven. At that time, her dad was the drummer for their next-door neighbor who was an Elvis impersonator. One night while they were playing music, Stephanie asked to borrow the microphone and belted out a song from the movie The Little Mermaid. Impressed by what they heard, her parents quickly bought her a karaoke machine and the rest was history.
With years of singing in cover bands under her belt, Stephanie developed a unique style combining country, soul, pop and rock. She currently travels with her band, Borderline, regularly play big fairs and festivals in the summer months and some of the most popular music clubs and venues in the area all year around. They have had the honor of opening for many major artists such as Little Texas, Bryan White, Lee Brice, Cassadee Pope, Tyler Farr, Jerrod Niemann, Lindsay Ell, Confederate Railroad, Mark Wills and more. She also performs in Nashville at popular honky-tonks on Broadway.
Stephanie recently released her new album "My Time Now" - and we think that's the perfect title for this season in her life. She has blown us away with her single You Did a Number on Me (co-written with Justine Blazer and Becca Rae Greene), a catchy, traditional country tune with clever play-on-words.
One night I met you over two shots of whiskey, three weeks later I was in too deep. Four months in, you were cold and distant five nights a week, you had me losing sleep...
Her rich vocals are smooth and buttery, reminding us of a cross between Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood, with a hint of Carrie Underwood. The lyrics have just enough sass to add a little edginess, but Stephanie's angelic voice keeps the song sweet.
I gave you more second chances than I could count on one hand. It’s easy to see when you add up all the lonely, boy, you did a number on me...
