Review: Megan Knight Gives Dramatic Debut Performance Live from the NuttHouse Studio

Megan Knight is an incredibly soulful and impassioned singer-songwriter, born in Southern New Jersey. The poised influence of her writing reveals a powerful artist willing to risk whatever it takes to push the limits as far as they will go. Her music is strongly defined by its contradiction, which radiates both confidence and vulnerability, pulling inspiration from many different genres.

Live from the NuttHouse Studio in Sheffield, AL, Megan makes her debut with her new single “My Drama" (co-written and co-produced by James LeBlanc, former writer for Rascal Flatts and Martina McBride). LeBlanc's distinguished backing vocals and guitar riffs carry classic country elements that continue to build throughout the entirety of the song. Additionally, LeBlanc's son, Dylan, is featured next to him on guitar. Dylan is also a renowned artist and songwriter, previously showcased in Rolling Stone Magazine. Megan’s Grammy Winning bassist Jimbo Hart is also known for his role as the primary bassist for Jason Isabelle.

"My Drama" features relatable lyrics that describe a relationship filled with compromises. I can deal with your demons and trauma, if you can live with me and my drama. Megan's raspy vocals provide a hint of attitude to the country tune and are perfect for this edgy, yet modernly romantic song. Megan's calm, cool and collected stage presence, mixed with her rich tone, reminds us of a country version of Aly & AJ.
